Lack of blogging.

Man, I haven't blogged in a lifetime. I wonder how my blog managed to get over 13,000 views??! What are you internet creepers looking at???!!!..... My life can't be that entertaining. :) However, since apparently it is... maybe i'll make more of an effort to update this thing more often. That way when the count goes up... I can hope that it's not people reading over my dumb younger selves posts. Here's to hoping!

How my parents taught me to love books

Ever since we were very small my mom would drag all of us to the library. I wonder what the librarians at the Lawrence Kansas public library must have thought when this young looking 4'9 women would walk in with 5 or 6 rowdy children in tow. We would fill our bags with books and I mean books and books sometimes the recipt paper would stretch for miles.
She wouldn't stop there though she would sit down with us almost every night to read to us. Stacks of books...sometimes so tired she would drift off the middle of a story and instead start sharing a her dreams out loud with us :)
My dad taught to care for books. How to open them the right way. To never and I mean never drop a book off the top bunk.
He taught the best way to stack and store them; to not stress the spines.
He told us never to eat with a book or we'd get grease on the pages.
I am grateful for them. They are probably the reason I get cravings to go to the  .  Library!

My theory

skinny and angry theory:
Question: Why do some people work so hard to lose weight; but after they lose it become meaner?
This is because they thought once they lost the weight they would be happy. Now that it's gone and they see they still aren't happy. Thus they become meaner.

Don't look for happiness in the wrong places.

Cafeteria worker

At the start of this semester for the first time in forever I got a job that did not involve books or newspapers. A job where I actually somewhat get to talk to people.
Working at the MTC cafeteria has been great. I loved my awesome coworkers. The leftover food. And seeing missionaries is pretty swell. Getting up at 6 am has not been my favorite.. but I'll live.

If we work super great we can earn what are known as 'stars of the day'. Which you can redeem for the 'really good' food. I love to tease my coworkers with gross suggestions of how I am going to use my stars. For example Jalapeno cheese bagel with mixed berry cream cheese or a bowl of cottage cheese covered prunes. Or for the burnt pieces of bacon. Or the weird looking pancakes.

We also enjoy things like dancing when the missionaries aren't looking. Stirring the oatmeal in the giant pots and laughing like evil witches. Or finding the weird things that missionaries write on napkins. My personal favorite being when someone wrote "I want you and your beautiful soul -Lucifer". haha... missionaries. The only way this work goes forward is that it is true.

Study music

As of late it seems that everything I once swore against is actually maybe not so bad?? weird?
I used to think that study music was lame and didn't work...that it was or squares! However these past few days I have been trying it out... and it actually seems to be working. :O! I was shocked the first time when I manged to sit down write a WHOLE five paper without checking social media or making up excuses to do something. It's a theory I am still working on. But I think I am on the path of becoming a believer.

My favorite so far is:

Selling my body

My whole life I have admittedly hated on people that sell their bodies...or aka 'donate' plasma. I mean let's be real how can it be a donation if one is getting paid for it?
That'd be like if one said "thanks for the donation" to the cashier at the grocery store.
I must admit that today...I sold my plasma for the first time. It was deftly an experience. The girl across from me fainted twice...I hate needles...and blood grosses me out. But after I donate again on Thursday I will be rich enough to go to L.A. this weekend.
So yeah, I sold my body to be able to see California and the grand canyon.

The cost of KNOWING

The cost of knowing is high. When we know something we are held responsible for that knowledge. With knowledge comes power...and blessings.

One wouldn't expect a child to be responsible to do all the household chores...but adults, they know... although I'll admittedly say sometimes I wish I didn't know how to clean the bathroom.

When we know something we are expected to ACT upon that knowledge.

Loaf of bread

The springfield building chapel makes me feel like I am in a loaf bread. The architecture creates just the right cruve on the ceiling and walls.
It makes me think about how Christ is called the bread of life. He is the bread of life and we promise the chapel weekly to become like Him...I like to think of myself as a crumb leaving the loaf every sunday to go out and reflect the bread.

Christmas Tree

It's finally starting to feel like Christmas in our house...

Walmart had a variety of trees to chose from ranging from pine fresh to cotton candy swirl. All perfectly sized and trimmed.

We finally choose a black and white swirl with a lovely cheap bathroom soap smell.

It really fills up the room huh? ;)

We hung it up with some nice masking tape.

OH CHRISTMAS TREE OH CHRISTMAS TREE! :)

Love

Love is the theme always...in every song, movie, and debately every conversation.

Perhaps because it has been the theme since the beginning. Our loving Heavenly Father crated a plan for us because He loves us. Christ atoned for us because He loves us.

Love isnt love until you give it away.

Christlike attributes are clearly love...it is patient, selfless, humble, forgiving, understanding...it is charitable, virtuous,  honset...it is kind, listens...it sacrifices.

I see it all day in everything around me. In the gospel of Jesus Christ. In familes. It's in saying sorry first and meaning it. In the breeze on a hot day. In the old couple in front of me on bus sharing crackers. The way my sister calls me to proudly declare what her husband has been up to. The way my brother and his wife talk about their daughter. In an older married man still opening the door for his wife.

I stand by holland when I say "Christlike love is the greatest need we have"

Candy crush saga

Candy crush saga is a magical game that I got super duber addicted to... leveling up left and right. Dont wanna brag or nothin... but I had some mad skills. Then they told me I had to pay money to advangte? What kind of free app. Is that??? Sigh! I guess the world isn't ready for these mad skills. But man it's mocking me. There are commericals about it. I saw this girl playing it on her phone, not to grab her phone and say ooohh gurl what level is that??! :)

Day shift

I thought saying goodbye to my night shift friends was hard.  But I've spent seven hours, five days a week with my day shift friends. I am going to miss them.  They are like a family to me! Hate the job love the people. :) we ve had some great times these last nine months! Sneaking candy, using tge stickers we get the books for evil, playing jokes, trying to learn some russian, and just good conversation in a otherwise boring day. I think I am even going to miss some the machines!
Hope that amra enjoys that new house she just got. Holly gets to marry her man. Holly and amra are so nice. :) Hanna stays the youngest 60 yr old I know and keeps buying the good chocolate.  Little Ralph lightens up and someone else sasses him he needs it. Joe lee stays joe lee or jlee from da nami. ;) that kayta finds her good russian man and gets to go on missionary trip or to russia. That alibeana has a beautiful wedding in october. Amber keeps her sass and rocks that new car. The office bitc*** stay excellent! Tweet sings 'no more days till friday'. Man there are tooo many people to name them all and there awesomeness. But you get the idea. ;)

Night shift

I said goodbye to my night shift friends tonight, since today was my last full day off work. My time overlaps so when day shift goes home I get to work one hr with night shift. It was a lot sadder than I thought it was going to be. especially since I don't have contact outside the bindery with most of the people I work with. who knows when I'll see them again.  I hope nothing but the best for them. And that they keep thinking that I am big deal even though I am not. That they use those passalong cards I gave some of them.  That eddie keeps eating' soul food' and isn't mad when I don't bring home a snake for him. That rollan gets out of the bindery like he wants to, and will stop thinking mormons chase aliens ;). That jodiee will save me some of the good chocolate and keep watching awesome tv shows with zombies and still be the happiest person I know. That mark will find someone else to sass him and do the dreaded inserts (that actualky arent that bad of a job). That jose gets more time with his daughter. That abu forgives me for telling him he was "named after adlins monkey". :)
